“Spring Garden Party”
April’s Friday Fun Night may have brought a smaller crowd, but the fellowship was anything but small. Our “Spring Garden Party” theme filled the room with soft pastels, bright tulips, and the kind of fresh, cheerful energy that only spring can bring. The meal was a beautiful spread of spring‑inspired foods—sandwiches, salads, sides, and desserts—each one adding its own color and flavor to the table. The lighter menu paired perfectly with the season, and the variety made the meal feel abundant and joyful. What made the evening truly special, though, was the chance to slow down together. With a more intimate group, conversations lingered a little longer, laughter carried a little farther, and the simple act of sharing a meal felt even more meaningful. These are the moments of fellowship that strengthen us—when we gather without hurry, enjoy one another’s company, and pitch in side by side. Thank you to everyone who came, brought food, or helped make the evening warm and welcoming. Even on quieter nights, God gives us exactly the fellowship we need.

“Luck of the Irish”
March’s Friday Fun Night brought a cheerful touch of green and gold to the fellowship hall as we gathered to celebrate our “Luck of the Irish” theme. The baked potato bar was the star of the evening, complete with all the classic toppings plus a few creative surprises that made building a plate even more fun. Green and gold decorations brightened the room, and the little “gold coin” Bible verse favors added a thoughtful, faith‑filled touch. As always, the dishes folks brought—sides, salads, and desserts—rounded out the meal beautifully. But the real blessing of the night wasn’t just the food. It was the chance to linger at the table, catch up without rushing, and enjoy the kind of unhurried conversation that we don’t always get on busy Sundays. Sharing a meal, laughing together, and pitching in to clean up afterward created the kind of fellowship that strengthens our church family in quiet but meaningful ways. We’re grateful for everyone who came, contributed, and helped make the evening special. These simple gatherings continue to remind us how good it is to pause and enjoy one another’s company. “A Night at the Circus”
Our February Friday Fun Night brought a splash of circus cheer to the fellowship hall, thanks to the circus-themed decorations and popcorn that set a playful, welcoming tone for the evening. Even without costumes or posters, the room felt festive the moment everyone walked in. Friends and families gathered around the tables to share a meal, enjoy conversation, and unwind together. The circus theme added just enough whimsy to make the night feel special while keeping the focus on what we love most—good fellowship, good food, and good company. Thank you to everyone who helped prepare, set up, or brought a dish. These simple, joyful evenings continue to remind us how meaningful it is to come together as a church family. We’re already looking forward to next month’s gathering. Breaking Bread
During September and October of 2025, Pastor Marvin and Nalini opened their Taylorsville parsonage to small groups from our congregation each Friday evening. Every week brought a table full of new dishes to try—some familiar, some completely new—but the food was really just the beginning. The true gift was the time spent around the table: unhurried conversations, shared stories, and the chance to learn more about one another than Sunday mornings ever allow. There’s something sacred about sharing a meal. Walls come down, laughter comes easily, and friendships grow in the most natural way. Week after week, as different groups gathered, a deeper sense of connection took root within our church family. These evenings reminded us that fellowship doesn’t need a program or a plan—just an open door, a warm meal, and the willingness to be present with one another. Voices from the Table As the Fridays went by, the conversations, the laughter, and the shared meals left a lasting impression on everyone who came. Many people offered reflections that spoke to the warmth of the evenings and the joy of getting to know Pastor Marvin and Nalini more personally. Here are some of the words shared by those who attended:
The Methodist Church has been present in the Taylorsville community since 1833.
